About Us

Welcome to The Lost Chapter, an 18+ SFW venue built for in-character, spoken word, on-stage storytelling. In our humble halls, we hope to offer you a place that you feel comfortable to make friends and possibly step on stage and tell a story to our lovely patrons. We are built with storytelling of all flavors and levels of seriousness in mind, and hope to accommodate the potential for anything you want to share about your character's journey. While we are still a traditional venue with food, drink, and space to just hang out with friends, the primary space of our venue is for our storytellers' stage in the basement. Anyone who enters The Lost Chapter will be told of that night's particular theme for stories. Examples include: 'Someone Who Changed Your Life', 'A Great Accomplishment of Yours', or 'Something You Wish People Knew About You'.No one who enters is required to share a story on stage, but if you feel inspired to do so, please tell a staff member right away! (Either in character or through a /tell.) Once you let us know, you'll be added to a queue to share based on a first-come, first-share basis. We will let you know beforehand when you're up next as well, and will be more than happy to hold your place at the front if you need a little more time to prepare. This isn't a place for competitive storytelling, we're here for people of ALL roleplaying skill levels to share their ideas and characters with people who love to tell stories and make friends. Thank you for joining us, and we hope you'll find your time here enjoyable.

Why Are We Here?

A Note from Ciron Aer’alu on why he founded The Lost ChapterThey say ‘history is written by the victors’, but even those on the side of victory can be left on the cutting room floor of history books. As someone who has been fortunate enough to see a large portion of Hydaelyn with his own eyes, I’ve been equally fortunate to meet innumerable individuals on my travels as a sailor, a bard, and most recently, a collector of stories. In the years I’ve spent seeing the world,
I came to the realization that an overwhelming number of the stories and people I’ve met
will be those that are lost to history.
Every single person I have ever met has had a story worth telling. From the richest Monetarist of Ul’Dah to the poorest soul in the Brume of Ishgard, everyone deserves to be seen and heard. Yes, even you, the person reading this right now. You deserve to have your trials and tribulations appreciated, to have your joys and successes celebrated, to have your traumas and heartbreaks validated. The world itself is a stage, and we all deserve a moment in the spotlight. I hope you will find
The Lost Chapter to be worthy of your time, your patronage, and your story.
Drink Deep and Speak Bold,
Ciron Aer’alu

Rules

- No hate speech. Don't be a dick. This venue will always be LGBTQ+ friendly.- While this venue is intended for 18+ audiences, The Lost Chapter is a Safe For Work venue unless directly stated for that specific evening's topic.- While all stories do deserve to be told, we've all played the Warrior of Light's story by playing this game. No 'god mode' characters, no Warriors of Light. Regular folk with The Echo are fine!- All levels of experience are welcome in The Lost Chapter. Please be kind and respectful to anyone who is beginning their roleplaying adventures with us.- Sadly, we cannot fully guarantee a spoiler-free experience. The world around us is in Endwalker, and people may mention current events in their stories.

Ciron Aer'alu, Founder

Abandoned as a baby and raised by merchant sailors, Ciron became a shantyman at a young age before turning his singing skills to the stage of a bard. Currently he performs in taverns throughout Eorzea, using his sea shanty-inspired background as the foundation for his music, and inspiration for collecting stories. When not running The Lost Chapter, he can be found at many a venue with friends new and old, or reading a good book at his apartment in Ul'Dah.
